TODD MARRON
CEO, board member
Todd has over 25 years of executive experience in the sustainability and water sectors. He began his career as Head of Research and Development for Zodiac Pool Care Canada, developing and modifying water technologies generating over $250M in annual sales. He later founded Pool Value/BLU Leisure, a multichannel distributorship that established sales, service, and warranty infrastructures across the USA, UK, and Europe. Todd went on to hold leadership roles at Conserval Engineering, DBM Perfcon, and PowerON Energy, where his body of work placed him as a world leader in installed megawatts of building-integrated solar thermal. As a representative for the Canada and USA Solar Energy Industries Associations (CanSIA & SEIA), he was instrumental in writing and modifying renewable thermal incentive policy and published a thermal metering standard adopted nationwide. Leading Voltea, Todd combines his sales-driven approach with deep technical and policy expertise to drive innovation in water sustainability.

JOHANNES LANDGRAF
CTO
Johannes is a highly experienced technology manager and inventor with over 20 years of expertise in technology design and intellectual property creation. He has worked across various sectors, including energy, water, automotive, and healthcare, where he led teams to develop hundreds of patents. Johannes serves as an interim CTO, innovation coach, and professional troubleshooter for both SMEs and large enterprises. He studied at leading universities in Munich, earning a master’s degree in Technical Physics and a PhD in Human Biology. His leadership and innovation skills have made him a valuable asset in driving technological advancements.

MICHAEL FRENCH
CFO
Michael French is a seasoned financial executive and ERP strategist with over 30 years of experience helping companies align finance, operations, and technology. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with an MBA in IT and Operations Management, Michael brings a rare blend of financial insight and systems expertise to his role as CFO and Controller at Voltea. Michael specializes in mid-market SAP implementations, guiding manufacturers and distributors through complex ERP transitions that improve operational efficiency, establish a solid financial foundation, and restore confidence in business data. At Voltea, he leads the company’s financial strategy, reporting, and compliance efforts, working closely with leadership to scale operations and support long-term growth. Michael has held leadership roles at Navigator Business Solutions, Epicor Software Corp., and Trammell Crow Company. He holds a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the Cox School of Business at SMU.

SEBASTIAN MURILLO
CHIEF ENGINEER
Sebastian joined Voltea in 2018, and has held several roles in field service, product development and controls instrumentation. He led a team in commissioning the world’s largest CapDI installation in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, producing over a million liters of water daily. Today, Sebastian applies his five years of experience with CapDI technology to problem solving and ensuring the success of Voltea’s client installations. Sebastian holds a BS Mechanical Engineering from University of Arkansas. A native of Bolivia, Sebastian is fluent in Spanish, therefore plays a key role driving Voltea’s sales in Latin America and Mexico.

Martin Novák
Innovation & Sales Lead
Martin has been working in the water treatment industry for the past 20 years. His path started for his family business in the Czech Republic and a few years later moved to their German branch. Whilst working in Germany, Martin finished his master's degree at the University of Liverpool. After returning back to the Czech Republic, Martin pursued a career focusing on pressure-membrane technologies such as nanofiltration, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis industrial systems - leading projects worldwide. His affinity and absolute passion to new technologies and early staged technical innovations led him about 6 years ago to first encounters with electro-membrane systems; a quick step to newly emerging MCDI technology. Martin has a particular affinity for designing electro-membrane systems for highly specialized applications that combine pressure driven technologies with electro-membranes, forming a unique composition of value for the end user. Martin is absolutely passionate about added value, novel solutions and unconditional effectiveness and brings this energy to Voltea in his role as Innovation & Sales Lead.

ALEXIS LUA
VP of Technical Partnerships
Alexis Desiree Lua is a trilingual (English, Spanish, German) international partnerships trailblazer with a BSc in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Texas A&M University. With 14 years of experience, she has led global go-to-market strategies, secured multimillion-dollar partnerships, and driven revenue growth in industries including automotive, medical, telecom, and industrial sectors. Alexis held senior roles such as Head of Global Strategic Partnerships and VP of Strategic Partnerships, spearheading innovative product launches, negotiating with C-suite stakeholders, and managing cross-functional teams across EU, APAC, LATAM and NA. As a co-founder of a medical device software startup, she successfully conceptualized and exited a cloud-based platform. Her expertise includes nanotechnology implementation for electronics, SaaS solutions, and manufacturing line engineering. A passionate advocate for STEM and female mentorship, she serves on the board of a non-profit focused on empowering children in STEM education.

FRED KERPELS
SENIOR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
Fred Kerpels brings over two decades of expertise in applied chemistry and quality control to Voltea. As a key member of the original Unilever research team that developed the foundational technology behind Voltea’s unique Membrane Capacitive Deionization (CapDI) systems, Fred has played an instrumental role in transforming a lab-scale concept into a globally deployed water purification solution. His background includes multiple patents in fluid treatment and formulation science, reflecting a deep commitment to precision, performance, and sustainability. At Voltea, Fred continues to lead product development with a focus on system reliability, manufacturing quality, and scientific rigor — ensuring that Voltea’s solutions consistently meet the highest standards worldwide.

STEPHANIE HELLER
BOARD MEMBER
Stéphanie is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Bootstrap Europe, bringing a wealth of experience from private equity, venture capital investing, and entrepreneurship. Before Bootstrap Europe, she founded and served on the Board of successful technology and financial companies, including the award-winning fintech start-up Fractal Labs (sold). Stéphanie founded the Real Economy Effect (TREE) which managed a portfolio of €350M in more than 30 growth and venture companies in the technology & health sectors in the US and in Europe. At Bootstrap Europe, she focuses on providing debt financing for growth companies, a philosophy developed during her time managing private equity assets at Cape Capital AG. Fluent in French, English, and German, Stéphanie holds a degree from HEC Business School in Paris and has a background in M&A from her time at Deutsche Bank and Calyon in Paris.

STEPHEN SCHWEICH
BOARD MEMBER
Stephen has over 30 years of experience as an analyst, banker, and senior executive in the investment banking industry across North America and Europe. He began his career at Alex Brown & Sons, where he founded their Environmental Services practice, covering sectors such as waste services, water treatment, and air pollution control. Stephen later joined Robertson Stephens to build out its special situations research practice, and then founded its international division in London, expanding operations to Munich and Tel Aviv. Stephen co-founded the technology-focused M&A firm Mooreland Partners, which was acquired by Stifel Financial in 2019. Stephen holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and now manages private investments while advising a number of private companies as a Board member/advisor. Stephen is also Chairman of Cherrystone Angel Group in Providence, RI.
